- Ponemos una olla con agua a hervir, sólo a que cubra la calabaza y añadimos uno o dos piloncillos cortados en trozos y dos rajas de canela y dejamos que hierva a fuego suave, añadimos unas tiritas de cáscara de naranja. Mientras se disuelve el piloncillo -si no se consigue, usar azúcar morena- vamos pelando unas 10 guayabas o más eso es al gusto. En la receta original no las lleva pero las guayabas le dan un estupendo sabor.
- Una vez peladas las cortamos a la mitad y las agregamos a que se cueza todo junto. Si le hiciera falta dulce añadir otro piloncillo.
Debe quedar un jarabe bastante espeso.(Yo lo dejé tan espeso que casi no se ve).
